Working principle of intermediate frequency furnace:
The medium frequency furnace is mainly composed of a power supply, an induction ring and a crucible made of refractory materials in the induction ring. The crucible is filled with metal charge, which is equivalent to the auxiliary winding of the transformer. When the induction coil is connected to the AC power supply, an alternating magnetic field is generated in the induction coil. The magnetic field lines cut the metal charge in the crucible, and the induction electromotive force is generated in the charge. Since the charge itself forms a closed circuit, the auxiliary winding is characterized by only one turn and is closed. Therefore, induction current is generated in the charge at the same time. When the induction current passes through the charge, the charge will be heated to make it melt.

1. Precautions before starting the furnace
Before starting the medium frequency electric furnace, the electrical equipment, water cooling system, inductor copper pipe, etc. must be inspected. Only when these equipment are in good condition can the furnace be started to ensure the safety of heat treatment. Otherwise, it is prohibited to start the furnace; Determine the personnel specially responsible for power transmission and furnace opening, and the responsible personnel shall not leave the post without authorization. During the work, the external conditions of the inductor and crucible must be monitored to prevent anyone from touching the inductor and cable after power transmission, affecting the normal operation of the medium frequency electric furnace or causing safety accidents.
2. Precautions after furnace opening
After the medium frequency electric furnace is opened, the charging shall be checked to avoid mixing inflammable and explosive substances. In order to prevent capping, it is strictly prohibited to directly add cold and wet materials into the molten steel, and do not add large block materials after the molten liquid is filled to the upper part; To avoid explosion accidents, it is necessary to ensure that the pouring site and the pit in front of the furnace are free of water and obstacles; During pouring, two persons are required to cooperate with each other, and the remaining molten steel can only be poured at the designated place, and can not be poured everywhere.
3. Precautions during maintenance
During the maintenance of the medium frequency electric furnace, the medium frequency generator room shall be kept clean, and inflammable and explosive articles are strictly prohibited. The furnace with excessive melting loss shall be repaired in time. During the furnace repair, iron scraps and iron oxide shall be avoided to ensure the compactness of the crucible.
